<December 23rd> -- Happy Holidays! 2005 is already getting to an end. We haven't' had the chance to update the site recently as we were hard at work to try and finish the shoot for Dead Flies. But it was finally completed! We shot the last scenes on Dec 10-11th 2005. Everything went great, but of course we had a few little snags, and we had one scene that just wasn't cooperating with us! But thanks to our great DOP Wayne Casey, it turned out great! We had an excellent crew and we thank them profusely!! Now we will be working hard in the editing room for two movies. We will try to keep you all updated on what is going on and what our next project will be. Donovan |

Tonight I've added a new section to this website. This 'Forum' section will allow us to communicate with people who share the same interests and vice versa. We've added many sections and hope it'll be useful. Cheers! Keenan |
Sorry for the lack of updates, its been a busy summer! Many projects and movies we're worked on and lots of fun we had. There's gonna be more to come in the next few days as our webmaster is getting all the info he needs to get him going for a while. Our movie Deadflies has been our priority for the time being, but other projects are in the works. We've also had the chance to participate in other projects and activities which we'll tell you all about soon. Thanks for tuning in! |
We have been goofing off, but we are entitles to! I (Dennis) started writing freelance for 'Here' magazine. Keenan has been busy with requests to build websites. Good for you Keenan! Don and I have been to every Frenchie's in Moncton to find fur. We are building a were-dog costume for Hel Dog's post production. |
Donovan here and just came back from working on the bathroom Stalled shoot for Lisa Wayland aka Gia. Friday April 29th we arrived at the location, and we started working pretty much right away. We had gone the weekend before but it was to prep the set, paint and get some props ready. So when we got there on this Friday the set was all done and very nice looking as you will see in the pics. I was costume designer. So basically I was wardrobe boy. My first time doing this type of thing, pretty interesting indeed. I had a blast working on this shoot. Everyone was cool and fun to work with. Me and Dennis we both learned a lot just by hanging out and talking to the people on the set. There were a lot of experienced people and they were always happy to show us the rope and give us information on what it was that they were doing. Dennis had more of a relaxed role this time around. He was nto as active as there were quite a few people on hand to help out the DOP with light setup and camera. So Dennis worked mostly as a background actor on Saturday. He was of course always ready to go help out whenever they would yell his name. but besides that he hung out with the gang and there were tons of discussions about movies, philosophy, etc. I on the other hand I was mostly involved with the cast and actors for the costumes. I was only able to join the crew behind the stage once all the actors were ready and dressed up. Which was fine. We had our interesting conversions on that side as well. It was a fun and wild bunch and it made the weekend even more enjoyable. The set, the expertise and the good people involved made the long days more enjoyable :) Of course in the movie making process there are always unforseen delays and hiccups, but we jumped over these hurdles and continued on. I'm glad to have participated as well as Dennis. WE look forward to seeing the "Bathroom Stalled" on the big screen! Click on the pic below for some pics for the shoot. |
<April 27th> An awesome yet inexpensive weekend! I went to Fredericton on Friday April 22nd to the NB Filmmaker’s Coop’s Spring Fling Bash. I had a great time mingling with good friends and all round nice people. I took the chance to recruit a few more members for my Dead Flies crew. I also found an actress. I had a little inspiration before the trip to modify the ending, which was a little lame previously. But now I’m more excited than even to work on it. Anyway after the party was over, my sister Donna had given me her free hotel prize she won in a draw. Listen kids: if you’re visiting Fredericton and you need a place to stay: THE FREDERICTON INN ROCKS! The beds are comfy, the food is great (Donna’s prize included fifty dollars at the restaurant… Donovan and I ate like kings! ) and they are located right next to a shopping Mall! Saturday we helped out coop member Lisa “Gia McKenzie” Whalen dress and block her set. Some painting was involved and Don and I messed up the whole place in record time… well the whole idea was to make it look messy, so it was OK! Around 5:30pm I was dropped off at my sister’s. Martin and Austin, her sons, where waiting “patiently” for me (Austin called my cell phone 20 times, which I left at home in Moncton) they wanted to go bowling with Uncle Dennis. So I did. I barely beat them! They go bowling every weekend and I was tired (that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it!) crashed around 9:30pm before the kid were in bed. Sunday was a busy day for me too. I volunteered to be the lighting grip and they wanted to block scenes on set. Meanwhile Mr. Donovan Richard, who is set and costume designer; his day consisted of gabbing with the actresses and make-up girl, looking at the main actress in a sheer outfit, and figuring out the sofa could recline! What a freaking tough job! Luckily I had enough coffee in me to drive home, because poor Don was exhausted! My entire weekend cost me ten dollars for gas money. Pretty sweet! |
